All the happy little hobbits of eternal adolescent land, all the furious little backward leering fraternity boys of college hijinks and dullness land, all the sweet little brittleness of awkward sweet little sororities …..

Cross cultural values are a peculiarly difficult kettle of fish. Whence, once, there was a firm belief in the general principles of tolerance and understanding, rule by law, strong governmental institutions, anti totalitarianism … anti totalitarianism of either ideology or religion …. Whence, once, there was a firm belief in reason and degrees of moderation …. it seems that jauntily over time, as distrust of Western power, motives, American power, motives has taken root then the cherished cultural backings of western civilization have become fair game for dissenters and cultures and ideas less dominant, more at odds have come to assert their differences as differences of kind, not as differences degree, of choice, not of differences upon any common standard scale of human conduct. ….

The acts of being have come to triumph over the acts of believing, acting, codifying, examining ….. Rejection of an advanced notion of universal human behavior, advanced universal human value …….. happy retreats from the once gloried “Civilization” are happy retreats …. Limited resources. Lots of bodies. A problem, the first. An annoyance, the second.. Aware members of the policy and power elites know the games of thrones and the games of caste; the games of structure, protective coloring, covering, walls and force. Also aware members of the policy and power elites know tis best when the system polices itself and the losers have not outs, have not sustenance, not access to influence, not access to resource, or general order on their own terms.

Limited resources. Lots of bodies. A problem, the first. An annoyance, the second.. A vote is a little piece of theater in the grabs for the forces either of the state, or in lieu of the state. The regulations of societal power come from adequate challenge and means of implementation. There need be paths to power. There needs be counters to those who would block same. Nothin’ for nothin’. The honey pots of life at the top brings out the mean and rancorous bears. Which of us can identify same? The honey is controlled by access, philosophy, force of will, strategic superiority.

No firm vested plethora of folk. No poor put upon middle class. No backbone, base, pillar upon which the structures of sainted, useful. desired, functional democracy may rest.

Tis in whose interest, then, to promote this vibrant, educated middle?

Of those seeking caste and the means of being authoritarian givers of saintly idea, happy ideology, base forays into the forests of pleas for survival?

Allegiances that are of the sectional, partisan nature are those blazing with white hot fires, scorn and the limited beliefs in a broad base of yammering toady thinkers.

The need for imposed structure is the street nature of order when all empty shows of order rest upon all the small the little will to maintain and support the mechanics of and enforcement of the cherished liberal democracies of our dreams and drool.
