When a system is non responsive to the interests of its members it is because there is no actual mechanism that would translate real interests into the ability to act upon same.

Politics is push and pull, force and deterrence, will and balance, access to the levers and the powers of the state or governing body.

When those who are able to be of governance have allegiance to power coordination responsive to only power plays then power is the interest that gets served. In the vacuum of any shared responsibility for working government power plays are what is left. Power plays and threats of chaos.

If you are pro freedom then, of course, you are anti government. Governmental power is evil and serves no purpose other than to corrupt the thinking and perspectives of the malleable. Power flows from the barrel of a gun and the power should not go to any government other than an ersatz one provided for by those able to enforce their will.

We play the game as it lays. If it lays to be gamed, then we play it so. If it is there to be gamed some more then we game it so. If the principles of elucidation and discourse and understanding and respect are there to be trashed, we trash them so.

Democracy is the loose structure that, unfortunately, puts road blocks in the way of loved tribalism, partisanship, power grabs, viscous mobs and authoritarian envy.

Principles shine like hell when they’re taken out and polished and shown off and cow towed to.

In the culture of dim, dumb and well mannered education is a sideshow just in need of waiting for clicks like all and every other devalued bit of information.

In education the students have to be pleased … they must be catered to ….. our culture is just too too advanced to go back to the idea that education is a valuable commodity that the student need aspire to have …. poor poor babies, poor poor America … never the need to be dependent upon a future where education is a respected product and where future success goes to those who go after it …. too much angst … too much pressure on the child …. we need instead bells and whistles and songs and dances and media stars and entertainments; educators dependent upon the good offices and good moods and pent up desires of the poor poor babies who just live to view education as good and valuable thing, worth pursuing in a world of better distractions and fatter things to do ….

Cater not to the immature mind.

Public schools are able to discipline and hold accountable and incentivize the cream of all students the way private and beloved curriculum preaching charter schools can …. same price to pay for bad behavior there … work without the whip hand ….. public policy to cherish.
