The quality of the argument defines the quality of the position. Nimble minds and flirtatious walks bring in the clouds and the mists and the dreams and longings of those in between the heavens of their hearts and the hells of trying to process facts in a logical and orderly manner.

We have the low weasels and the cynical travelers framing issue and stance, policy and lewdness, public consciousness.

Good argument stimulates, opens vistas, breaks down barriers, gains attention, cancels stupidity. Good argument comes from fine minds working finely. Good argument is a blessing… a chance to test the theories and positions of ones heart, hearth and head. Good argument is for those who give a damn.

Comes the attacks in the public sphere, the parrots in the political domain, the power leakers here there and everywhere. Dumb and dumber, ignorance and simplicity… saving narratives and various paeans to happy little nativisms of all base types and stripes fuels the mad ranters and the happy little idolaters as they proclaim their truths and beauty.

Might, right and left …stupid and cynical … flagellating and moaning… entertaining and pacifying …. exorcism and excommunication are the joys of the troupe …. purity is king …. static, seething joys of inverted sexual pleasure … rapture comes from the cleansing of the unclean, from the nullifying and removing the unclean from the golden gates of eternal belief and the psychic sustenance absent critical thought, self examination, irony and humor.

The logs pounding at the doors of the fortresses of simple and useful are the logs used to wedge out any and all who can consolidate a functioning state. This serves those who wish it so.

Smart actors trust no one unless the tables of divinity say that that trust is a possible, probable thing. Smart actors know that in any relationship where power rests not with themselves trust is a thing that gets damaged easily and gets betrayed mightily at four o’clock in the morning. Smart actors know that kicking high and riding high for those with power is simply a way to hope that one might be covering the back sides of stupidity.

Smart and splendid seekers of power and pain and wisdom and truth know that faith, hope, and charity, ideology, religion and intimidation are things that co opt the lovelies, manufacture trust, give the unshepherded causes to pine for, badges to display.

Statism, cronyism, capitalism, state meddling and breaking, private power owning, demeaning, enslaving … these are all things that the smart know that the dim cherish …… they wish to be on the right side of the equation, they wish to be with the winners of fate’s control.

The trust of the dim is always in a grand bit of inverse proportion to the distrust of the devil at hand…. whom or what you love saves you from being a nullified little piece of useless cypher.

Trust who or what? Trust the accumulation of the strangleholds of force out side of the chosen sides of hell. Competition for the ability to nullify, quantify, shake, bake, break and kill helps keep all of the empty from having it done to them too damned overtly.

Who holds the whip hand when the powers of those who can set up the box and the bow that puts you ever at the disposal of those who can take your job, your money, your freedom of movement? Who gives claws to those who wish to structure a system that makes life a constant struggle to survive?

Who counterbalances those forces who can ruin a fool by picking him out of a brown paper bag? Who sands up against the crushing weight of power exercised by those who feel no pain if they use that power that they have?

Who stands up against those who wash out the safety net that prevents having the imposition of societal conditions upon those who have nowhere else to go but into the cattle shoot of no expectations and general waste fodder and the self regulating eternal slime of the eternal swamp…. mix well and let permanent stasis and or atrophy begin…with structures in place to ensure the lack of access to law and decree by any who would not have the skin in the game of those who are born to shape the system for their own thrills? Who gets bought off and who gets played?

Who has the power to maim at will? Those who go after the use of will and force have the tools to keep the noses of necessary victims out of the way. They push always towards the inability of power to be understood and countered…… civil power…private power …all bought by those who won’t give it up now that they have taken it and or had it handed to them.

Politics is power …who has it…who does not…… This is too tricky a question for the humble hearts of gut voters.
