Tis the vaunted special season of political persuasion here, there and every which way but loose.  Sham actors, politicos,  pros, advertising geniuses lack not money, restraint, conscience, morality, honor.  With  character traits reflective of little personal worth other than the usual banal drives towards wealth and power our message makers humble themselves to communicate with us, the dead.  They read into our mystic psyches and us growling masses growl and seek the red meat of battle.

Arts and science and the accumulating wisdom of the prosperous schemers, looters, owners, breakers, haters, intimidators and reprobates tell true of success for the taking and obnoxia, distortion, demon bating, sneering for eternal truth and secular wants. The carrion appeal to the better natures of our beings enable us lords of stature and  brutish heels of repulsion.  Sad, mad, chosen calculations to be sure.

Approached, factored, fractured, and given the charge for the triumphant lame and the happily weak of mind and will, strivers strive

Postulates, apostates, seers and cynics love the great unwashed and see only fair game for their driven snow.  Through vague mists of hope they see and seek a vile and little and mean little audience.  The wealth of the wealthy and corrupt gets spent well for the true right pandering to reach its begging audience.  This wealth is not squandered,  not spent for fun.  The many marks are noted and the bets are placed.  The bettors are smart folk who know well their charming marks.

That we should divide the boundaries of our land of lands into two marvelously succinct and challenging entities for the ages.

That we should find the passion to live our dreams and rejoice in the great grand good of achieving them.

Our entities, to be fair and good, should be defined by their oppositions so that the purity of benevolence stays with the champions of sincere thought.

On the one hand we may have the land of the insidious socialist dwarfs who know nothing save the evils of collective collectives and have no mean abilities to distinguish among any stand up wretched honorable of value and derision.  We have the socialist, communist, bird watching scum who read books and whine over the heat of the day.

On the other hand we have the manic crypto fascists who never met an enemy they couldn’t kick squarely in the teeth with their steel toed sh-t kickers and who know that thinking rots the spirit and drains the bodily fluids necessary to produce the right kind of mental midget.

Political havens for the camp of camps….the world as it exists, as it is, as we know it.

In love peace and war we have the havens of the demigods, the squirrel holes of the damned and the skunk swamps of the forward leaning.  We have the worlds of our dreams and desires.  We have the flags of our conglomerate of all knowing, all seeing intellectual creeps and wonders.

Since all processes around all politics are fixed only when they are not then it is no great surprise that all of our paragons of virtue and sincerity, freedom lovers all, fight mightily for their very own little ends but fight mightily not for the preservation of a legitimate democratic republic.

Politics ain’t bean bags and the stakes are always high, the pressures are always great, the threats to law and order always lurking,  and the urge to maximize power a fact of human existence.  That said one should just be happy with those who just don’t espouse outright oligarchy or gangsterism…… which is a tough bargain when seeking the heart of hearts of our players and schemers.

There is no there there to incentify a politico to stand for a system that, built in, respects the ideas of rational political markets, free political markets, non fixed or slanted, faked, or baked political markets….. heavenly dear political markets.

Backing and  passion for those who seek the role of holier than though, disciplinarian and self righteous buffoon, firm and fair reformer with a flair, sure to be naive practicing cynic is left to those with no vested interest in political outcomes and the competing interest making for dynamic policy.   What possible push is a push too far?  What possible war is a war to childish?  What possible world view is an acceptable world view?  The he’s or she’s who love to skin ripe enemies get our ultimate respect.  Love the muggers.

Is it so hard to factor in a decent value structure into the vast void and barren landscape that is the place where our intrepid political and cultural warriors live?

The very many heroes and heroines of our songs and stories, our dribble and spew, are simply just strong enough to work the magic of preset opinion, preset formula, preset world view, preset wars to enable them to claim to be the vanquishing soldiers of the sun and the winnowing whips of fury.

It takes strength and character to face the void and go through the intellectually humbling tasks of squeezing every last ounce and angle, false fact and false premise, hateful hook and stereotypical slander out of any bit of business, story, argument, policy mist or vague hint at actual facts.

A public mouth, public angler, private mouth, private angler should be a proud and vivid thing.  All preaching staunchness and the fruits of manly toughness they practice well the bullish arts of might and right, of the big lie and the small derision, the propped up symbolism and the herd mentality.

Strong and viscous, terrifying and vivacious, the agenda setters are the best of the best, the king wrestlers in the swamp of a ring.

They are just not strong enough to build their precisions and their emptiness around well versed, well constructed, fondling of fact based, mincing of honor based, cores of arguments and premises that might require other than a love for and worship of the tired, the dim, the loud and the self rewarding.

Up the heavers.  In weakness of execution they exalt.  They have the current paths to acceptability and power.  Strength is in the willing so of that which is useful and that which is convenient.  Players who respect other avenues or virtues  are the naive waifs and powerless frolics who get sand kicked in their faces at the beach.  tough makes truth.  Wisdom makes tedium.  Intellectual laziness is for those who care.  Th e flag flies high in the winds of the felonious assaults upon invasive questioning.  Lack of certainty is lack of standing.  the weak of analysis are the masters of the universe of the message makers.  “Go maim”….the call of out pristine wild.  The wolf is king.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind that is unable to thrash out the complexities of issues in such a way that there is gleaned an understanding of an opposing point of view and the logical structure and world view upon which it may  rest is undeniable.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind that is shut off so completely from the human experience that it sees only the pittance of the mock trials and emotions which make up the day of the dim is also undeniable.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind that may wallow in the simplicities of fallacy and the inaccuracies of illogical and false premise or unexamined premise is in itself  a tautological statement.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind resting in the breeding grounds of political speech is an issue, a statement upon which few will land.  Intelligence is a valued thing and smarts is what we all are sure of in our own very selves.  We are smart enough to understand the world and its challenges…understand those what are with us and those what are agin’ us.  We are savvy enough to see the hell cats at the door and the rats nipping at our heels.

We see the provocateurs, the subversives, the self righteous, the aggrieved, the aggressive, the self important and the rock solid.  We see the whole menagerie of fools.  We see through our grand and gloried prisms the dangled baits of entertainment high and visceral pleasures low so that we can have always some use for the rotten rotten that confronts us.

We see what we need to see and we need to see what we see and smarts don’t mean a good g-d damn.  Keep the club.  Waste the thought.  Praise the kickers and seek the bit of the spoils.  Fine minds are the illusions of the soft.  That’s all there is.

Our measly everyday incentives to be part of our measly everyday  universe, system of laws, grievances, systems of crime and punishment,  of behavior modifications, of carrots and sticks, truths too dirty to accept and appreciate, fears too deep to delve into , players and posts too intrenched to move.

What are our measly everyday incentives to be part of a long line of custom and practice, intimidations and rewards, false image and true belief, incentives to hate, incentives to gather around the tribal camp fire?

What are our measly everyday incentives to be of the grand melting pot that is the legend and rapture of a culture that preys upon divergence, mines diversity, wishes no inbreeding, feels for the loss of pride in an American nation?

What are our measly incentives to be part of a tomorrow that promises no reward,  less definition, that promises serfdom and boots upon the neck, glorious, pompous usurpers  and destroyers of law, of sovereignty?

What are our measly everyday incentives to be part of it all, the pageantry, the show, the showcase, the fury, the storms, the songs, the sirens?  What are our measly everyday incentives to be part of the world around us as it floats and goes its merry way?  What are our  incentives to survive and act and move and fold?  Other than bodily survival, fear, loss of identity, loss of compass, fear of chaos, fear of self, emptiness of choice, desperation in hearts of hearts.  The grand hammer makes for good incentive.

The fawners, the owners, the players, the breakers, the slayers, the smart have no such incentives.  Citizens of their mobility, they are, citizens of their freedom from want, freedom from jurisdiction.  The gods they cherish are the gods of insulation, access to force, power vacuum, power, flunkies , hired muscle.  Bless the basis of their place and position.  Rules are for those stuck under the umbrellas of fantasies.

Honor does indeed make the world go round.  Sentimental and teary eyed gents and ladies with love of country, love of flag, of truth, justice, the American way love freedom, democracy above all things politic, above all things holier than thou.

Scratch them, do they not bleed the reddest of blood.  Pressure them, do they not sing the truest of songs, the most patriotic of fervor, the highest of high minded principle.  Follow them and you not get trips through nether lands of staunch virtuous pillaging of the trolls of decrepit immorality and the black thoughts of ugly existence.

Time and distance and startling dimension know callings noble and  aims true as the truest arrow and as pure as the purest of maidens.  Time and distance are with the noble.

Vultures of darkness and enemies of the human spirit may descend upon the earth to do devilish deeds but those of pristine honor are always there to defend the franchise and to defend the causes of solemn right against the encroachments of corruption.

The world of freedom and democracy we have.  No fixed voting, voting districts.  No rigged candidates or rigged insurgents able to corrupt process and run the games of false choice for ever disenfranchised onlookers.  No lack of access to the pittance of pleading and wheedling needed get help with the  to intimidation and burying of the suckers who have no friends in friendly places.

Our heroes live and love.  In the precious swamp of their derision they understand that order is the important thing and that a control of the process is control of order and that they are the last best defense against chaos and confusion.

Lip service in defense of needed order, lip service in defense lack of uncertainty, lip service in defense of the temples of natural selection are not vice.  This is the virtue of those who are deft.  It is to those who play the game we owe our allegiance.

Is it of honor we speak?  Is it of honor we have any concern what so ever?  Is it of past loves and illusions we reference when we beg to pivot in our thoughts and see honor as a concept or a term of some or any validity in our amoral universe?

Is  it of honor that we have a concern or a dream or a faded photograph of when honorable men walked the earth and their honor was a sought after virtue as opposed to a light of derision for the ill suited climbers who see victory at rancidness to be the highest of callings and the surest way to the emotional and material riches that come to those who are in tune with the knowing and the serene.

Is it of honor we dream when we are told again and again that the staunch will not flee and the unthinking will not bend as they substitute the dishonor of ideology for the pain of thought?

Is it for honor we yearn when those of the political sphere see their own private wars as that which is the only thing that is in the arena and that their own little definitions of politics are the only little way to the only little thing things that power and government have to offer …. and to share.  Politics is the way to ungodly power for the ungodly saints.  It is death for sinners.

There is, alas, no nuance in lack of honor only deft slogans for deft folk…slogans to sell slogans to sell oneself.  There is always motive, belief, agenda, fire.  There is always cynicism and greed.  There is the illusion of purpose and the illusion of sincerity always put out by those who show no moral compass save adolescent thought and motive.  There is the mantra of simplicity and the rage of futility.  There are those who are always poised to ride the crest and to ride the wave.  There are always those ready to launch tirades, invective, nonsense as worth and to paint pictures of grand holy warriors as the most furtive and justifiable of wanderers.  Honor, then. is the conquest of the dragon…our self defined, self inflated dragon pink and dragon scary.  Mailable and all purposed all, on their chargers, all, the saviors of humanity and the heroes of their minds.  Or just the cynical tramps of their hearts.
