Honor does indeed make the world go round. Sentimental and teary eyed gents and ladies with love of country, love of flag, of truth, justice, the American way love freedom, democracy above all things politic, above all things holier than thou.

Scratch them, do they not bleed the reddest of blood. Pressure them, do they not sing the truest of songs, the most patriotic of fervor, the highest of high minded principle. Follow them and you not get trips through nether lands of staunch virtuous pillaging of the trolls of decrepit immorality and the black thoughts of ugly existence.

Time and distance and startling dimension know callings noble and aims true as the truest arrow and as pure as the purest of maidens. Time and distance are with the noble.

Vultures of darkness and enemies of the human spirit may descend upon the earth to do devilish deeds but those of pristine honor are always there to defend the franchise and to defend the causes of solemn right against the encroachments of corruption.

The world of freedom and democracy we have. No fixed voting, voting districts. No rigged candidates or rigged insurgents able to corrupt process and run the games of false choice for ever disenfranchised onlookers. No lack of access to the pittance of pleading and wheedling needed get help with the to intimidation and burying of the suckers who have no friends in friendly places.

Our heroes live and love. In the precious swamp of their derision they understand that order is the important thing and that a control of the process is control of order and that they are the last best defense against chaos and confusion.

Lip service in defense of needed order, lip service in defense lack of uncertainty, lip service in defense of the temples of natural selection are not vice. This is the virtue of those who are deft. It is to those who play the game we owe our allegiance.

Oh no…… we just want fairness in our state’s representation……. Pa. and Wisc. republican denizens of democracy and practical politics wish to reform electoral vote tabulations so that it will not be winner take all but imbalanced districts skewing and gaming the results so that the prospect of a democrat win is not something that would have any meaning…..

Angels, neither party. Incorruptible, neither party. Childish….. well we get political correctness in the extreme hurtling down from the smug and self righteous of the democrat persuasion. Cringing is often in order. For sheer spectacle and images rampant and pristine for all who missed high school and college fraternity politics we have legislators of the republican persuasion scheming and wheedling away to glory and immaturity. This … behavior to stake gravitas upon. It is ever thus…give a child a weapon and the weapon gets abused. And you thought governing was about governing.

Let the talkers and the whiners, the apologists and the propagandists, the paid flacks and the paid intimidators color this stuff any way they wish. Immaturity is king when immaturity is what sells. Be base and self absorbed and full of adolescent hate and we get the stupid shows of stupid shows. Never gonna change.

To be a fair child of democracy and true believer in the ways and means of a respect for good and true voters everywhere……

May I get, in these times of patriotic fervor, my state legislature to pretty pretty please deny voting privileges to any and all who are congenital drones, insidious lechers, progenitors of trashing and gaming already trashed and gamed systems?

Can I get my state legislature to deny voting privileges to any and all who are deranged sycophants and flag demeaning power hungry cretins?

Can I get my state legislature to deny voting privileges to any and all who are flat and fat and sure and hateful and serene and mean….those who are eternal adolescents and slick imitations of weaselly frat boys…..those who are eternally in the seventh heaven of the seven circles of hell in the seventh grade and those who reap the wild whirlwinds of this epochs eternal dimness, cowardliness, irresponsibility on parade?

Can I get my state legislature to deny voting privileges to any and all who are useless innate drones with little understanding whatsoever of the wry human spirit or of any reading material above the levels of inflexible unctuous wordplay?

We all love preachers of tolerable kills and the breaking of the minority?

If we must have voters…let them jump through hoops and vote on nothing of value

So there once was a labor movement that was able to push back against unchecked capitalism. So there were once trust busters, those crying for fairness and equality. There were always those wishing to push back against abuse……personal, systemic, hellacious, unrequited. Action, reaction, synthetic settling of corruptible balances of menace, power, glamor, deviation. The little boys and girls would wish to get just enough to let the big boys and girls play their games and break their enemies.

Owned souls and orgasmic greed are not too damned pretty but they make the world go round. Self wonder, self aggrandizement, power seeking is the way of the world. Greedy, rotten bastards and economic sultans fill the annals of history, society, propriety, song and story. So damned shocking to see human nature on parade.

Legislate goodness and mercy, civic responsibility and chaste souls. Legislate smarts, critical thought, roses and propaganda. Send away those who gleefully reinforce lovely visceral hates.

Systems get broke. Systems get gamed and shamed. They get bought and sold, worshiped and raped. They get taken, get protected, get mean. Vulnerabilities in systems get exploited, get wrapped up in pretty little bows and get given as gifts to happy little peddlers. Too damned big to fail means I got you by the ….. Too damned strong to compromise means I win, you lose, get taken, go drown. Too damned intimidating to be spoken to means blood gets shed and lives get ruined. Pity no balance of interests, of powers, of regress, of exploitation. Mean means being at the mercy of those without mercy.

Broken systems need be fixed. End game are not winner take all. Suckers are suckers unless they understand the way things work. Push is always is answered by push back unless the pushers get smart enough to kill push back and remove those who would do so…push back. We call that bad and murderous public policy. Otherwise we have the show and the prospect of someone able to rig the game against the killers, the maimers, the viscous, the sinister. Don’t hold your breath.

Everyone hate the government and those who govern. All would send them packing and then pick a new set of stooges to sing and dance for fun and amusement. And these songs would be better. These dances would be flashier. These folk would be more responsive and more deeply in tune with the democratic governing principles of our hallowed land. And all would be happy. And all would be thrilled. And all would have the experience of political ecstasy for the new bums in place would not be the problem and the long line of cookie cutter followers they represent would just take the place of those who had gone before.

What in Gods name makes anyone think that a different mix of cow can come to fore and chew any differently, blankly stare any differently, give the world an excess of methane gas in any different manner. What gets taken seriously gets taken seriously. What sells sells. What seduces seduces. What bludgeons bludgeons. Hallowed points made by stars luminescent are what there is. Excuses for statesmen, stateswomen are the mold of what the stork wants, what the pretty boys and pretty girls want, what the bats in the belfry want. What seduces seduces, what makes all little hearts flutter over and over again makes all little hearts flutter over and over again. The sun don’t shine in any different places than it did before. The rain still gropes the land

The show’s the vote. The damp, the crowd. The ugly the kiss of the prize pig. The prize pig is, as always, the belle of the ball.

So, what enthralls us going forward into glorious autumn?

It’s the politics stupid. It’s the show, the sun, the cheap saloons, the stunts, the runts, the rascals, the clowns. It’s the villains, the scum, the lords, the masters.

It’s the politics stupid. It’s the talk, the squawk, the spies, the lies, the sins, the spins, the sprinkles of dew. It’s the politics stupid. The rants, the raves, the prancers, the dancers. The running of the bulls, the choirs of the night, the messengers from god, the songs from mammon, the hateful hates, the favorite sons, the favorite guns, the favorite suns.

It’s the politics stupid. The steady haze, the frosty glare, the wistful sneer, the true beliefs. It’s the politics stupid. The holy rollers, the holy redeemers, the Knights Templars, the rats in a cage.

It’s the selling of the trolls, the souls, the buying of the betrayals of loves, the pandering to fish, the abstinence from thought, the self love of self involvement, of self absorption, self decapitation, self promotion, selves wonderful.

It’s the politics stupid. The charm, the grace, the criers, the buyers, the deniers, the crowds. It’s the politics stupid. The flames, the games, the foibles, the trips. Its the traps, the plays, the bathos, the pathos, the dirty little limericks, the fretful little brows.

It’s the politics stupid. The incoherent thoughts of incoherent fools and dead folk out for a stroll. It’s the politics stupid. The demon’s dance, the mysteries of life, the gifts of light.

We can best be protected from extreme evil in the political sphere by spreading around power as much as possible. The philosopher king or the wise council of elders may be, in their pure forms, the most admirable and efficient forms of governance. They may bring the best of virtue, vision, majesty, bearing and trust. These forms may be the abject model of all seekers of wisdom and truth, all seekers of greater, better existence for greater, better political entities, systems, states, facts. Wisdom and virtue flow undiluted, unfragmented from implementer. Implementation is a dream..

Virtues in these epochs of rule are great but as it is with all such things the templates always seem to have equal and opposite flip sides. The greater good is matched by the greater evil and in real terms governance is best served when as a staunch representative of protection from harm. The positive is as a bonus…an unexpected bonus of maturity and purpose, reflection and wisdom…that which when it comes… survives…leaves hope.

This is as close to safety we can come to in a world dependent upon the rational and irrational hates and passions of the bubbling classes. Passion has its virtues…and its price.

In these aspects and respects…we crave our loved version of mass influence…our republic…our democracy. All done well, good may prosper, right may flourish, balance may be achieved. All done not so well…most of the mob survives the long knives, the hounds, the wolves, the cuts and the destruction.

Politics is kick ass and dangerous, armed and dangerous, dangerous and dangerous. Grateful we are for what we see as the limits to the mass dangers we face, in the forms of the base outcomes we can endure. We bless the phlegmatic, the powerless, the resigned and the the facts of livable survival. Seeking the better and the good is always the fools errand of the naive known to the knowing and the wise.
