Pick a subject…any subject. Listen to them moan and groan. Listen to them will and wallow, sink low and spit high. Listen to the mad harpies of independent thought everywhere speak in mystic tongues and incoherent dictums.

If it were possible to stand up and flash eerie post hypnotic signs and psychic suggestions rather than speak words not of true fiber or thoughts then the Saturday matinee entertainment available only these days would not be simpering broadly drawn eternal serials offered our good guys being good…our bad guys being evil.

No sucker or talk, pallor or pall bearer writes the dime novel whenever he speaks, whenever he thinks as long as he does neither. The audience wishes release, torture, cliff hanger, black hat, strumming cowboys, white hats, fair maidens, upright heroes, damned evil.

The good writers write the good stuff. The good interviewers sift with sifters of no mesh. The good label makers get more inventory made with love by scalded hearts.

Pick a subject…. any subject. Hell is for the taking. Pick a subject … any subject. Free rides to nirvana are the goods to sell.

Cash keeps coming . Scripts keep unfolding. The genre is evergreen. Entertainment is paramount. Creativity gains style points. Venal harps in play always and jack whacked mouths good for dirt. Things on the bottom of muck boots are souls.

All good little boys and girls reap the wild winds of the smooth westerlies of reflection and remorse that enable all black hatted rat bastards to set public agendas political for the vast weak minded, know little or nothing, imperiously ignorant and unable, uninformed vote wranglers that roam the purple colored ranges of the proper the cowboy heavens run by empty headed mules with mean kicks.

Genuine martyrdom, abject screeching and tantrumizing scream out against the sage efforts of the lone riders of swift justice as they try to lasso up and hog tie the unvirtuous rams and pig sty dwelling drunks.

All such celebrated spouters have long,strong constituencies hiding under and behind rocks and in bat caves and barren hills ready for stern ambush or justifiable massacre.

No lone wangler or intrepid night rider can flair up against the forces of triumph, institutionally, constitutionally, mad drooling vaingloriously droll, sneering protected masked men and their evil assaults upon all us pure noble settlers looking for genial political landscapes of milk and honey.

Smiling, grinning, spitting rank outlaws and leering, sneering outdated banditos; regressive, revered border raiders and general scum of the earth ride well the high country and run the cesspools they find. Ain’t no damned cavalry. Ain’t no damned Christmas.

So democracy goes on forever because that is our want, our world, ourselves, our bounty. So our worlds do not atrophy. They do not dissipate and die.

So there is the stability of governance full of protections for the powerless, full of balances in powers for those wishing enfranchisement.

So disintegration of trust, competence, public good…. simply a simple broken system populated by broken bums and the broken rabid venal. So the sun rises and tomorrow comes and America is the land of the free.

Power rests with those with access to the means of enforcement. The means of enforcement rests with those who have access to the control of movement, money, survival, position, power, today, yesterday and tomorrow. Today, yesterday, tomorrow rests with those who tell the tale.

It does not take much to run a world …just enough. A dollop of conflict, a dash of mass confusion, a smidgen of nowhere to go but in circles for those who wish to go somewhere else, a petulant stain of force, influence being ceded to those who can take it from those who can get it …. the show, the trick, the hammer, the pistol, the lark, the ruse, the making it so.

Hammer holds, grids in lock, governance unresponsive, self seeking, cross purposes here, no purposes there … everywhere the choke holds of choice.

Access to the choke holds of choice? Spit and hate, rant and whine, block all ways to balance interests and intimidation….. dream jobs for losers. The private muscle of private muscle. The path to own the world. Who would you go to to solve your problems?

Certain talkers and mouthers and candidates of various flavors and stripes and different flavors of cotton candy grandly, majestically kneel royally to bend their messages, bend their truths, bend sacred apparent iconic natures of consistency, logic, belief, reason, credulity. With the sublime gusto and merciless aims of strident warriors and granite augured figures of legend the fly as standard bearers for slick, trick and quick.

Speech mellifluent, stentorian, beloved, scintillating and rabid. Speech ribald, deathly, banal, coveted, true flaming arrows, well aimed smart bombs, happy little snide and cynical strategic little plays and back slapping little acts of shaping coveted alternate realities.

Vaunted speech is wide in the vacuum of worlds they reflect. Vaunted speech is fraught with views and worlds and worldviews skewed darkly as to allow images of the reflecting mists of acceptable reality and the reflecting mists of allowable denial to shimmer in league with muse and fable.

Marvelous spears of masters and the adept know true their aim,their marks, their paths to heaven. Openings allowed them in their drives for canonization, control, pandering, use, domination, hate, accomplishment and ascendant flair are gifts from heaven and the gads of needy beggars.

There is always ascendance or survival, the playing of the malnourished and non washed, the charges going forward and sights true upon the prize, the ball, the soft flesh open to rupture, the soft mind open to rapture.

push or bully,m wheedle, con or fool marks go where they must go, go where they must wish, go where they have no choice. Conceits taken, mistruths told, stories mined and used for pity, hate, comfort, joy then are always the adorned means towards the establishment of peons waiting and greatness fulfilled. The numbers say that 99 percent is more than 1 percent. The power says that 1 percent is more than 99 percent. The 99 percent are nicely split between those who think they’re getting shafted and those who think they’re just being stopped from licking the boots of the kings and queens. Upward mobility means playing the game of the ones who own the store. Any competent realist knows that.

The sweetly malignant of the 99 percent wish to tear down all that is holy…not unlike the sweetly malignant of the tea’s and their ilk. The little devils want either a rogue malignancy of the left or the right. The others wish America to be America….definition to be determined by what ever megalomaniac is in the defining mood.

The problem seems to stem from the point of view of the boys and girls on the economic outs. Do they see a rigged game. If they see a rigged game do they see it rigged by by those who stop producers from running amok or by those who stop suckers from getting a piece of the systemic and economic action? It seems as though the powerless should be able to identify the powerful and the suckers should be able to identify the way they are played. But alas not. The devils of our hearts have to stay the bad guys until beyond all hope and beyond all reason they can be seen as bearable. In this climate that is a tough out. The devils of our hearts are simple beings that need to bear the brunt of our comfort zones and frustrations. They just will never leave. The devils of our hearts are that which we see behind every tree and shrub, bush and factors talking sense.

Since all processes around all politics are fixed only when they are not then it is no great surprise that all of our paragons of virtue and sincerity, freedom lovers all, fight mightily for their very own little ends but fight mightily not for the preservation of a legitimate democratic republic.

Politics ain’t bean bags and the stakes are always high, the pressures are always great, the threats to law and order always lurking, and the urge to maximize power a fact of human existence. That said one should just be happy with those who just don’t espouse outright oligarchy or gangsterism…… which is a tough bargain when seeking the heart of hearts of our players and schemers.

There is no there there to incentify a politico to stand for a system that, built in, respects the ideas of rational political markets, free political markets, non fixed or slanted, faked, or baked political markets….. heavenly dear political markets.

Backing and passion for those who seek the role of holier than though, disciplinarian and self righteous buffoon, firm and fair reformer with a flair, sure to be naive practicing cynic is left to those with no vested interest in political outcomes and the competing interest making for dynamic policy. What possible push is a push too far? What possible war is a war to childish? What possible world view is an acceptable world view? The he’s or she’s who love to skin ripe enemies get our ultimate respect. Love the muggers.

Is it so hard to factor in a decent value structure into the vast void and barren landscape that is the place where our intrepid political and cultural warriors live?

The very many heroes and heroines of our songs and stories, our dribble and spew, are simply just strong enough to work the magic of preset opinion, preset formula, preset world view, preset wars to enable them to claim to be the vanquishing soldiers of the sun and the winnowing whips of fury.

It takes strength and character to face the void and go through the intellectually humbling tasks of squeezing every last ounce and angle, false fact and false premise, hateful hook and stereotypical slander out of any bit of business, story, argument, policy mist or vague hint at actual facts.

A public mouth, public angler, private mouth, private angler should be a proud and vivid thing. All preaching staunchness and the fruits of manly toughness they practice well the bullish arts of might and right, of the big lie and the small derision, the propped up symbolism and the herd mentality.

Strong and viscous, terrifying and vivacious, the agenda setters are the best of the best, the king wrestlers in the swamp of a ring.

They are just not strong enough to build their precisions and their emptiness around well versed, well constructed, fondling of fact based, mincing of honor based, cores of arguments and premises that might require other than a love for and worship of the tired, the dim, the loud and the self rewarding.

Up the heavers. In weakness of execution they exalt. They have the current paths to acceptability and power. Strength is in the willing so of that which is useful and that which is convenient. Players who respect other avenues or virtues are the naive waifs and powerless frolics who get sand kicked in their faces at the beach. tough makes truth. Wisdom makes tedium. Intellectual laziness is for those who care. Th e flag flies high in the winds of the felonious assaults upon invasive questioning. Lack of certainty is lack of standing. the weak of analysis are the masters of the universe of the message makers. “Go maim”….the call of out pristine wild. The wolf is king.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind that is unable to thrash out the complexities of issues in such a way that there is gleaned an understanding of an opposing point of view and the logical structure and world view upon which it may rest is undeniable.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind that is shut off so completely from the human experience that it sees only the pittance of the mock trials and emotions which make up the day of the dim is also undeniable.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind that may wallow in the simplicities of fallacy and the inaccuracies of illogical and false premise or unexamined premise is in itself a tautological statement.

That there is no such thing as a fine mind resting in the breeding grounds of political speech is an issue, a statement upon which few will land. Intelligence is a valued thing and smarts is what we all are sure of in our own very selves. We are smart enough to understand the world and its challenges…understand those what are with us and those what are agin’ us. We are savvy enough to see the hell cats at the door and the rats nipping at our heels.

We see the provocateurs, the subversives, the self righteous, the aggrieved, the aggressive, the self important and the rock solid. We see the whole menagerie of fools. We see through our grand and gloried prisms the dangled baits of entertainment high and visceral pleasures low so that we can have always some use for the rotten rotten that confronts us.

We see what we need to see and we need to see what we see and smarts don’t mean a good g-d damn. Keep the club. Waste the thought. Praise the kickers and seek the bit of the spoils. Fine minds are the illusions of the soft. That’s all there is.

Honor does indeed make the world go round. Sentimental and teary eyed gents and ladies with love of country, love of flag, of truth, justice, the American way love freedom, democracy above all things politic, above all things holier than thou.

Scratch them, do they not bleed the reddest of blood. Pressure them, do they not sing the truest of songs, the most patriotic of fervor, the highest of high minded principle. Follow them and you not get trips through nether lands of staunch virtuous pillaging of the trolls of decrepit immorality and the black thoughts of ugly existence.

Time and distance and startling dimension know callings noble and aims true as the truest arrow and as pure as the purest of maidens. Time and distance are with the noble.

Vultures of darkness and enemies of the human spirit may descend upon the earth to do devilish deeds but those of pristine honor are always there to defend the franchise and to defend the causes of solemn right against the encroachments of corruption.

The world of freedom and democracy we have. No fixed voting, voting districts. No rigged candidates or rigged insurgents able to corrupt process and run the games of false choice for ever disenfranchised onlookers. No lack of access to the pittance of pleading and wheedling needed get help with the to intimidation and burying of the suckers who have no friends in friendly places.

Our heroes live and love. In the precious swamp of their derision they understand that order is the important thing and that a control of the process is control of order and that they are the last best defense against chaos and confusion.

Lip service in defense of needed order, lip service in defense lack of uncertainty, lip service in defense of the temples of natural selection are not vice. This is the virtue of those who are deft. It is to those who play the game we owe our allegiance.
